it was the same dream

but i didn’t finish the walk

through the open field

didn’t brush my hand

over the heads of grain

heavy with their seed

i didn’t close my eyes

there was no hunger

there was no need

anything

so i climbed something

that had always been there

eyes wide open to see

what i could see
